WASHINGTON —  Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) sent a letter to Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales on Wednesday about his office’s bail reform policies that could have prevented the release of a dangerous criminal with a history of violence who shot and injured 7 San Antonio police officers on January 22.

Congressman Roy said: “I am thrilled that the Senate officially confirmed my friend Robert F. Kennedy Jr. today as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

WASHINGTON —  Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) re-introduced the Passport Sanity Act today. This legislation prevents all United States passports from being used to promote radical gender ideology. 
Congressman Roy said the following about this legislation:
“Radical gender ideology must be eliminated from every facet of the American government, root and branch. Passports exist to protect our national security by verifying the identity of those who exit and reenter our country, and that's why they need to be grounded in reality.

WASHINGTON —  Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) introduced the Direct Medical Care Freedom Act today to further his goal of bringing true health freedom to the American people.

Congressman Roy said: “We need a way out of our broken healthcare system. Short of the massive industry-wide overhaul that we need, radical expansion of health savings accounts and direct medical care are the best ways to improve the healthcare system for everyday Americans.

WASHINGTON —  Reps. Chip Roy (TX-21) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14) introduced legislation on Friday to permanently abolish the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) — thereby ending decades of wasteful and corrupt federal spending.
The two-page bill would immediately halt all taxpayer funding to USAID upon passage, and would simultaneously claw back any USAID grant funds not already sent out.

WASHINGTON —  Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) re-introduced The Restoring Military Focus Act today. This bill would permanently eliminate the Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisors for Diversity and Inclusion positions at the Department of Defense, which were established under Section 913 of the FY21 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21) reintroduced the Drug Cartel Terrorist Designation Act, which would direct the State Department to designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs).

The bill would direct the Secretary of State to designate the Gulf Cartel, the Cartel Del Noreste, the Cartel de Sinaloa, and the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion as FTOs and codify President Trump’s Executive Order into law.
