WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement regarding his vote against the proposed National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021:

This NDAA is yet another reminder of why the American people are so fed up with how things are done in Washington. Once again, the people's representatives were handed a bill loaded up with problems and told to vote on it with no chance to amend it via regular order.

Dear Speaker Pelosi:

In all locations, laws should be observed. If approved observers are not allowed to be present, votes should not be uploaded into the system. The process should be subject to observation to be fair/open, regardless of who it may or may not benefit in any particular situation.

This evening, the Senate voted to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court of the United States.

The Senate hearings made very clear that President Donald Trump made an excellent choice in nominating Judge Barrett. She has an exemplary record as a judge on the 7th Circuit, a strong understanding of the Constitution, and an unflappable demeanor that will serve the Court well.
