WASHINGTON — Rep. Roy issued the following statement Wednesday regarding his vote against H.Res. 831:
 

I voted no on H.Res. 831. NATO is a military alliance, and I fail to see how establishing a “Center for Democratic Resilience” tasked with “monitoring and identifying challenges to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law” strengthens such an alliance or serves American interests.  

WASHINGTON — Today, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) introduced the Restaurant Revitalization Fund Fairness Act to aid restaurants decimated by COVID lockdowns while statutorily prohibiting the racist criteria the Biden administration initially used for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund program.

Today, I voted against H.R. 2954. There are indeed many provisions in the bill that I support, including those that provide much needed flexibilities that will help Americans save for their retirement. However, the bill imposes multiple mandates on small businesses and employs budget gimmicks to hide the real cost of the bill in the short term while increasing the deficit in the long term.

Today I voted against H.R. 7108. I generally support the underlying purpose of this bill, and likely would have voted for it had that been the sole focus. Putin is actively killing thousands of innocent people in an unjust war, de-stabilizing the world economy, and saddling up with China and Iran in the process. This body needs to stop throwing together important legislation at the last minute and allow its members to vote on clean, single-issue bills.
