WASHINGTON — Today, after a roundtable with law enforcement hosted by the House GOP American Security Task Force, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) gave the following remarks about the devastating impact that the radical movement to "defund the police" has had on Austin, Texas and other cities around the country.

WASHINGTON —Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement after a roundtable discussion with law enforcement in Austin hosted by the House GOP American Security Task Force:

The radical leftist effort to defund and degrade the heroic men and women of law enforcement has made Austin, Texas a more dangerous place to live, just as it has in other cities across America.

On Friday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) led several of his Republican colleagues in a letter to Dr. Fauci inquiring about effective countermeasures to COVID-19, such as natural immunity, Ivermectin, and Hydroxychloroquine.

"We write to inquire about certain correspondence from you and other stakeholders in the virology community regarding potential effective solutions in combatting COVID-19, including Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine," the letter reads. "We are concerned that certain effective strategies at combatting the pandemic may have been overlooked."

The amendment would have stopped taxpayer funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA):

Chip Roy (TX-21) and Bill Posey (FL-8), along with several of their House Republican colleagues, sent a letter to Dr. Anthony Fauci demanding answers on his correspondence with the virology community and the suppression of information on the origins of COVID and gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
