Rep. Roy's statement on Texas Independence Day 2022

WASHINGTON — Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issed the following statment Wednesday:

Today, we Texans celebrate our great state's founding as a free and independent republic. At a time when our hard-won freedoms are increasingly under attack by the federal government it is more important than ever that we follow in our state's forefathers' footsteps in fighting for liberty in Texas and America. Texas is great; America is great; but Washington is broken. Texans fought and died for our freedoms long before we ever joined the United States. Now as part of that union, it is up to us to assert our rights as free people.
