Rep. Roy's statement on the 2021 presidential inauguration

Rep. Chip Roy issued the following statement Wednesday evening:

Congratulations to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their successful inauguration today. I look forward to working with them to represent "all" Americans as the President referenced in his speech. To do so, I would counsel the White House to remember that federalism matters precisely because it allows us to agree to disagree — not to raise tensions by forcing decisions on people from Washington. Unity is more than a word. Unity requires respecting our differences and allowing us to live with them.
