Rep. Roy Statement on Texas Receiving $7.5 Billion Following Biden Border Crisis

Washington, D.C. — Representative Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed a $7.5 billion reimbursement in border security costs for Texas:

“When the Biden-Harris Administration unleashed the worst border crisis in recent history, the state of Texas stepped up to fulfill what should have been the federal government’s most basic duty: securing the border from illegal immigration, dangerous actors, venomous drugs, and other untold horrors. 

At the onset of the Biden-Harris border crisis, other members of the Texas delegation and I fought to secure proper reimbursement for border security costs for those we represent, finally achieving a mechanism for these funds in the One Big Beautiful Bill. While there’s more to be done to compensate the state of Texas fully, I thank President Trump and DHS Secretary Mullin for their efforts to make our state whole,” said Rep. Roy.
