Rep. Roy, Sen. Cruz, others demand answers over alleged discrimination of pro-lifers at National Archives
WASHINGTON — On Thursday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21), along with Sen. Ted Cruz, and 21 of their colleagues pressed leadership at the National Archives and Records Administration for answers about allegations that pro-life Americans were harassed and threatened with expulsion from the National Archives Museum after the 2023 March for Life.
“Following the March for Life in Washington, D.C. last month, several pro-life Americans were allegedly harassed and threatened with expulsion from the National Archives Museum for wearing pro-life and human rights affirming apparel,” the lawmakers wrote. “According to a lawsuit filed by the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), a group of pro-life Catholic students from Michigan, a group of pro-life students from Liberty University School of Law, and a pro-life grandmother and her grandchild were, on separate occasions, told to remove their pro-life attire as grounds for remaining in the museum.
The letter continues: “Most disturbingly, one plaintiff even alleges that a security guard told her to remove her pro-life pin while within arm’s reach of the Constitution. This incident is alleged to have occurred on the same day a group of students were harassed and expelled from the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum for wearing pro-life hats.”
House cosigners include: Reps. Josh Breechen (OK-02), Ralph Norman (SC-05), Jeff Duncan (SC-05), Greg Steube (FL-17), Morgan Luttrell (TX-08), Mary Miller (IL-15), Ben Cline (VA-06), Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14), Ronny Jackson (TX-13), John Moolenar (MI-02), Andy Ogles (TN-05), Rick Crawford (AR-01), Erin Houchin (IN-09), Dan Bishop (NC-08), and Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13).
