Rep. Roy presses San Antonio airport leadership for info on DHS migrant flights
WASHINGTON — On Friday, Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21) sent a letter to the Director of Airports of the San Antonio Airport System in response to footage reportedly showing ICE release a large group of illegal immigrants at the San Antonio International Airport (SAT) earlier that day.
"Reportedly, this has been happening at (SAT) for months, if not longer," Roy pointed out. "As the Representative for the 21st Congressional District of Texas, a district which includes the San Antonio International Airport, and as a Texan increasingly concerned about the crisis at our southern border and a DHS that repeatedly shows they do not care about enforcing the rule of law, I respectfully ask that you respond to the below questions by February 10th, 2021," he continued.
Below are Congressman Roy's questions:
- When did SAT first become aware that DHS would be moving illegal migrants through SAT?
- How many illegal migrants have been knowingly moved through SAT by the Department of Homeland Security or an agency thereof since the start of Fiscal Year 2022?
- How many illegal migrants were knowingly moved through SAT by the Department of Homeland Security or an agency thereof during Fiscal Year 2021?
