Rep. Roy praises Governor Abbott for backing Constitutional carry for Texans

WASHINGTON—On Thursday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement commending Governor Greg Abbott for signing Constitutional Carry legislation into Texas law:

For far too long, the state represented by Bernie Sanders had gun laws that respected people's God-given right to bear arms better than a state represented by Ted Cruz. I am glad to see that the Texas legislature finally fixed that disparity and passed Constitutional carry and Governor Abbott signed this bill into law. I want to thank and congratulate bill Sponsors Matt Schaefer and Charles Schwertner, as well as everyone else whose work got this legislation across the finish line—even when so many said that it couldn't be done.
