Rep. Roy pans Biden's reckless budget proposal, counters with a call for fiscal sanity

WASHINGTON ­—Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement Thursday regarding President Biden’s budget proposal:

President Biden’s budget makes his priorities clear: his administration is the enemy of the American people's freedom and prosperity.

Predictably, the President’s budget only fortifies the woke and wasteful federal bureaucracy, now increasingly weaponized against the American people and their way of life. This means:

• More funding for DHS to process migrants while our borders remain wide open,
• More for the ATF to potentially turn millions of Americans into felons,
• More for the FBI to continue targeting parents and pro-life Americans,
• More for CMS to enforce tyrannical vaccine mandates,
• More for agencies like EPA pushing anti-human energy polices,
• More for woke, government-wide diversity indoctrination, and
• More for abortion and transgender policies that violate Americans' sacred conscience rights.

The worst part? This is only the beginning.

While President Biden admits we need to reduce the deficit, this budget goes about it in the worst possible way. The budget proposes raising $3 trillion through tax hikes and socialist-style price controls that would crush the economy and restrict freedom.

In contrast, we need to shrink Washington and grow America. We can achieve the same level of deficit reduction and more, while fostering economic growth and promoting liberty, simply by cutting funding for the woke, weaponized, and wasteful federal bureaucracy to back to pre-COVID levels.
