Rep. Roy issues statement on vote to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress
WASHINGTON, DC — Representative Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement on Wednesday afternoon:
"Today, in the House Judiciary Committee, I voted to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress.
Hunter Biden has refused to comply with a congressional subpoena - from a standing committee - regarding the investigations into President Joe Biden. But he has not only refused to attend a closed door deposition - just as the other witnesses have - he has made a mockery of the process. He has demanded special treatment by calling for a public hearing, he purposefully held a press conference outside the Capitol on the day of his deposition, and he even arrived to his contempt hearing in the Oversight Committee, only to storm out during the most "clickable" moment.
Hunter Biden has played games long enough. He should be held in contempt of Congress for his actions."
