Rep. Roy issues statement after signing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act discharge petition

April 14, 2021

WASHINGTON — Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement Wednesday after signing a discharge petition for a House vote onthe Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which wouldmandate proper medical assistance be provided for children who survive botched abortions.

Today, I once again signed the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act discharge petition. It is unconscionable that a medical doctor would intentionally kill a living, breathing human being in front of them by refusing to provide care.

Life is a precious gift from God Almighty and the most fundamental human right government exists to protect. I will always fight to defend the unborn and survivors of abortion. That commitment is why I signed this petition and also why I introduced the No Taxpayer Funding for the United Nations Population Fund Act earlier this week.
