Rep. Roy announces TX-21’s Congressional App Challenge winners
TEXAS — Representative Chip Roy (TX-21) was proud to announce the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) in Texas’ 21st Congressional District.
The 1st place winners are Mr. Keshav Singh and Mr. Ty Fonseca of Bulverde, Texas, with their app, “Semiflow”. Mr. Singh and Mr. Fonseca are 11th graders at Hill Country College Preparatory High School of Comal ISD. “Semiflow” is a simulator app that helps students understand physics.
Mr. Singh and Mr. Fonseca said, “We created ‘Semiflow’ to help students understand the complicated world of fluid dynamics and particle simulations because neither of those subjects are easy, but both are vitally important to the workings of the everyday world. 'Semiflow' is a particle simulator, that helps students, no matter their skill level, understand the inner complexities of particle dynamics, using an abstractified system.”
The 2nd place winner is Ms. Cabrini Bustos of San Antonio, Texas, with her app, “StoryCrafter”. Ms. Bustos is an 11th grader at Alamo Heights High School.
The 3rd place winners are Mr. Ryder Garcia, Mr. Weston Packer, Mr. Luke Schroeder, and Mr. Gavin Sneed of Spring Branch, Texas, with their app, “Graph Master”. Mr. Garcia, Mr. Packer, Mr. Schroeder, and Mr. Sneed are 11th graders at Smithson Valley High School of Comal ISD.
More about CAC:
Students from across America are provided this opportunity by the United States House of Representatives. The goal is to encourage students to pursue STEM activities such as coding. Each challenge is district specific. As U.S. Representatives, we publicly recognize our winning teams, and each winning app may be put on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.
