Rep. Roy announces staff promotions in Washington and District congressional offices

March 29, 2021

WASHINGTON — Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement on Monday regarding changes and promotions within his Washington, D.C. and district offices:

I'm pleased to announce, effective April 2nd, my Chief of Staff, Wade Miller, will be joining forces with my dear friend and recent former Director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Trump Administration, Russ Vought. Wade has been my Chief of Staff from the day I was first sworn in, and his presence and the leadership forged while serving in combat in Iraq for the United States Marine Corps, will be missed throughout the office.

This move, however, marks a tremendous opportunity both for him and for the conservative movement in which both Wade and I have spent much of our lives working together to advance.

While he was here, Wade did a terrific job building and training a team that could step in to fill his shoes without missing a beat. For this reason, I am promoting my Legislative Director, Jason Rogers, to Chief of Staff. Jason, a graduate of the University of Texas and St. Mary's School of Law, is an attorney barred in Texas. He previously worked as Counsel for my friend and Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, Andy Biggs, and was born, raised, and lived most of his life in the 21st District of Texas.

Serving as our Legislative Director will be our current Senior Legislative Assistant, Sabrina Hancock, who is one of the foremost healthcare experts on Capitol Hill. Sabrina attended UT-San Antonio and has been leading our work to help Republicans advance personalized healthcare for All Americans.

Joining to round out our legislative team will be Sean McAndrews as Legislative Assistant. Sean attended Dallas Baptist University, formerly served on the congressional staff of my friend and former Chief of Staff to President Trump, Congressman Mark Meadows, and brings both House and Senate experience to the role.

Back home in Texas, my District Director, Nathan McDaniel, will be accepting, with my strong encouragement and support, an opportunity later this year to transition to the private sector. I would not be where I am today, if not for Nathan, who has been with me since the early days of my first campaign. I am thankful for his dedicated service, including sticking with our team through a second campaign season, and maintaining a strong presence in my campaign operations going forward. As he embarks on the journey of married life this April, I am pleased that his work as a member of my official staff earned him an opportunity simply too good to pass up.

Planning for this moment, we are pleased to announce that John Fletcher, current Legislative Assistant and Director of Legislative Correspondence, will be promoted to the role of District Director. "Fletch," is a native Texan and an alumnus of the University of Texas, and he worked alongside Wade Miller on the 2018 Senate campaign of my friend and former boss, Senator Ted Cruz.

When you hire top-notch staff, you do so knowing they will get offers, and I am particularly proud of the dozens of offers my staff has turned down. But when the right opportunities come, I encourage my staff to take them to expand and disperse the family of constitutional, limited-government conservatives ready and willing to fight for America.

I could not be happier for Wade and Nathan – nor could I be more pleased to have the best team in the business, primed and ready to stand athwart the radical leftist agenda of the Biden administration and to set the stage for a new dawn of conservative leadership in Congress in January of 2023.
