Congressman Chip Roy Announces Winner of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21) announced today the winner of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition, recognizing the artistic talent and creativity of high school students across Texas’ 21st Congressional District.
This year’s winning artwork, “Waiting” by Hewston Lochte, a student at Fredericksburg High School in Fredericksburg, Texas, was selected from submissions representing schools throughout the district. The piece will be displayed for one year in the United States Capitol as part of the nationwide Congressional Art Competition exhibition.
The Congressional Art Competition is an annual nationwide competition sponsored by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives to recognize and encourage artistic talent among high school students.
The winning artwork will be featured in the U.S. Capitol alongside winning pieces from congressional districts across the country. Students will have the opportunity to attend the ceremony in June.
