‘All they care about is their open-borders agenda': Rep. Roy calls out admin over skyrocketing border stats:

May 12, 2021

WASHINGTON — Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement Wednesday in response to the April border numbers released by Customs and Border Protection this week:

The official DHS border numbers have been confirmed, as reliable sources informed me last week, that border apprehension numbers are over 500,000 since the beginning of 2021.

But even worse than the 178,622 apprehensions in April are the roughly 40,000 "got-aways" sources told us about last week, as well as the drugs pouring into our country at incredibly high levels between points of entry while cartels enrich themselves and abuse immigrants by exploiting this crisis. Meanwhile, Border Patrol officers are overwhelmed, state and local law enforcement are forced to confront the spread of cartel operations further into our communities, and countless people are falling victim to human trafficking every single day.

While the Biden Administration will claim all is well because CBP isn't holding as many UACs despite those same kids still being in government custody, the truth is plain to everyone with eyes to see: this crisis is getting worse.

Yet, the Biden Administration is inexplicably patting itself on the back for creating a "fair, orderly, and humane immigration system" while the Vice President — who is allegedly tasked with addressing this — seems to be doing everything possible to avoid even visiting the border. If the President and Vice President had compassion for anyone in this equation other than the radicals in their base, they would put a stop to this chaos now. However, they have made it clear that all they care about is their open-borders agenda.

The solution to this crisis is simple: secure the border, enforce the law to stop the flow, and use every tool available to bring down the cartels. Until we make these changes, this crisis will only continue to get worse, as the numbers continue to show.
