Rep. Roy: ‘There’s nothing more American than ensuring the integrity of our elections is protected’

WASHINGTON — On Tuesday evening, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) joined Allen West in a panel discussion hosted by Sean Spicer on Newsmax's Spicer & Co. to stress the imperative for the Texas legislature to pass common sense legislation to safeguard the voting process and address the vulnerabilities that currently exist in our elections.

• For the President of the United States to call [voter integritymeasures] an assault on Democracy, let's talk about the assault on democracy of leaving wide open borders where cartels have operational control of our border … we've got an assault on our democracy every day under this administration.

• What we're talking about in Washington [H.R. 1] is a federal takeover of elections. And if they do that they're going to prohibit the ability of Texas to ensure that all Americans, all Texans, can know and have faith that their ballot, their vote counts.
