Rep. Roy on OANN: ‘This war on the border is a war on your communities’

July 2, 2021

WASHINGTON—Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) joined Kara McKinney on OANN's Tipping Point to discuss the severe consequences at the border, directly resulting from President Biden's unwillingness to uphold his constitutional obligation to enforce immigration laws and protect the American people.

Full length of the interview can be found here and some key quotes are below:

  • What we saw from the Vice President is just more of the same of what we've seen from this administration which is all political show and a complete lack of empathy or compassion for either Texans or the migrants who seek to come here. She decided that she would take her taxpayer-funded airplane, pit stop in El Paso for a few hours, say that she checked the box to go to the border, by going to the border patrol station in one port of entry, where the crisis does not exist, and not go to Fort Bliss by the way where we have some of our children housed out there and then go hop on a plane and go to Los Angeles.
  • Our priority in Texas is securing Texas, our priority is making sure our country is safe, our priority is making sure ranches are safe, our communities are safe, make sure we stop the flow of fentanyl coming into our country, make sure migrants are safe from the abuse of cartels, putting these little girls into the sex trafficking trade, as I said on the floor of the House, is occurring daily, as we speak.
  • Why did Governor DeSantis send resources to Texas? Because, he knows we need help for our country, but also he knows that Florida is under assault, like every other state in the union by these cartels shoving these narcotics into your schools and your communities. This war on the border is a war on your communities no matter where you are in this country. We're at the front line of it in Texas and we're frankly getting tired of it and we're stepping up to do something about it.
