Rep. Roy on Newsmax: If Kamala Harris ‘actually cares about what’s going on, she’d be down on the southern border of Texas’

WASHINGTON — Friday evening, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) joined Rob Schmitt on Newsmax condemning Vice President Kamala Harris' continued failure to adequately address the southern border, what Americans can expect to see in upcoming immigration numbers, and the effect this crisis is having on people in border states like Texas.

• If the Vice President actually cares about what's going on, she'd be down on the southern border of Texas, seeing what's actually happening to Texas communities, she'd actually be out talking to border patrol agents who are overwhelmed, outmanned, outgunned, and dealing with basically processing individuals in McAllen, as we've talked about many times before.
  
• If Vice President Kamala Harris actually wanted to be productive, maybe she should invite the leaders of the Cartel Del Noreste of Los Zetas or the Reynosa patch of the Gulf Cartel to actually get on a conference call because they're the ones who actually have control of the situation, not [the president of Mexico].
  
• I'm not sure [the Biden administration] is doing to accomplish anything other than to please and placate their radical leftist base.
  
• The April numbers are about to come out and they're going to be close to about 175,000 more apprehensions, 40,000 got-aways, that's going to put us, Rob, over half a million apprehensions in 2021 alone. The current administration does not care.
  
• We've got a lot of Texans who are starting to say now, what are we getting out of the benefit of being part of the Union when the United States of America won't secure our border?
