Rep. Roy on The Faulkner Focus: ‘From Wuhan to Juárez the Democrats have declared war on the truth’
June 30, 2021
WASHINGTON—On Wednesday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) joined Harris Faulkner on The Faulkner Focus live from the southern border to discuss the Biden administration's politically-motivated reversal of Trump's immigration policies and Biden's failure to acknowledge that his policies have thrown open our borders and empowered violent cartels to take control of the border, ultimately endangering American citizens, migrants, and law enforcement. Rep. Roy also discussed his recent amendment to divert funding from wasteful earmarks and use it to fund the border wall.
Footage of the interview can be found here and some key quotes below:
- From Wuhan to Juarez, the Democrats have declared war on the truth and that's the reality, they refuse to actually acknowledge what's going on.We saw Vice President Kamala Harris do a photo-op trip en route to Los Angeles for a few hours, pit-stopping in El Paso, literally missing the mark by 750 miles.
- The cartels have operational control of our border from the Gulf of Mexico to Big Bend, and the Democratic party and the current leaders in the White House refuse to do their duty to secure the border of the United States, leaving Texas exposed.
- Governor Abbott is stepping into the breach…and President Trump, who actually did his job to secure the border, shows the compassion of wanting to demonstrate that he recognizes what's going on in Texas- coming here to McAllen, where the current administration refuses to come.
- Ron DeSantis- when he sent support to Texas- and we're grateful for it, God bless him- he did it in part to help us, but also, doing his duty of governor of Florida because he recognizes the drugs coming into Florida, hurting his people, are coming through the southwest border.
- It is the first duty of the government to secure your borders, and defend a sovereign nation and yet- President Biden and Kamala Harris refuse to do that.
- I introduced an amendment yesterday, to cut all earmarks, all 5.7 billion dollars of fourteen hundred earmarks and take that money and bring it down to the border to fund the wall.
Rep. Roy's amendment to cut wasteful earmarks and use that funding for the border wall can be found here.
