Rep. Roy blasts AG Garland and Biden admin for ‘targeting the American people and parents’
October 22, 2021
WASHINGTON— On Thursday, following a heated House Judiciary Committee hearing, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) joined host Will Cain on Fox News Primetime to discuss Attorney General Merrick Garland's role in directing the FBI to target concerned parents at school board meetings, and his knowledge regarding a rape case at a high school in Loudoun County, Virginia used to justify the directive.
Full clip of the interview can be found here and some key quotes are below:
- This father [Scott Smith], he deserves a medal for how reserved he was about what happened to his 9th grade daughter… I can tell you my reaction might have been a little different.
- [Attorney General Garland] took this effort to push the FBI into going after parents and schoolboards as a result of this memorandum from the national association of schoolboards… There was obvious collusion going on between the national association of schoolboards and the White House. It was politically driven, they had been coordinating this for weeks.
- We know exactly what is happening here and the parents defending education which is the organization that did that should be commended for doing this FOIA request so that we can know the truth.
- The truth is fairly evident because we saw it unfold and the unfair attack of Scott Smith, a plumber, for defending his daughter- that is the poster child for freedom, the poster child for parents, the poster child for upending tyrannical federal government led by this President and Attorney General targeting the American people and parents.
