WASHINGTON— On Thursday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) joined Harris Faulkner on the Faulkner Focus to discuss findings from his recent trip to the southern border with Senator Ted Cruz and how the border crisis is currently endangering lives and communities across the United States.
Full footage of the interview can be found here and some key quotes are below:
- The country's rightly focused on Afghanistan and the complete debacle that this administration has carried out there, but we shouldn't lose sight of what's happening at our border. It's not just impacting Texas, it's impacting the whole country.
- The American people need to know this: you think this is a faraway crisis, you think this is something remote in South Texas, let me tell you, it's in your schools, it's in your communities in the form of fentanyl.
- We have ranchers who have their fences getting cut through, we're finding dead bodies all over south Texas, hundreds of migrants dying in the Texas heat. We have ranchers who find migrants who are basically dying in the Texas heat without water and they have to call 911 to try to help them.
- Our country is in danger and this is a national crisis and the administration is nowhere to be found.
- People are dying in America because our administration refuses to secure the border of the United States and that is the travesty that people need to know… It's not just South Texas, it's all of America.
