If doubts existed that newly minted Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy would continue the conservative ways of his predecessor, 30-year veteran Lamar Smith of San Antonio, they are being erased by Roy’s votes early in this fractious Congress.
Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy criticized his fellow members of Congress on Monday for leaving Washington D.C. during the government shutdown rather than working to pass an appropriations bill to re-open it.
“For those who say fences don’t work I say go look at nuclear sites, go look at the White House, go look at your own property, look at the dawn of time. Fences do their work.”
